How do I add a countdown?!

Hi bloggers, does anybody know how I add the countdown thing on the side of my blog that counts down the time til my surgery?

Dentist appointment and trying to fatten up!

I went to the dentist yesterday and she told me I need to clean my bottom teeth better or I'm going to be left with white squares on my brown teeth :( I thought I already was cleaning them well!  To be honest I think it's a lost cause now, they're already brown and I don't think there's anything I can do about it without getting them cleaned by the hygeinist and possibly whitened.

On a separate note, I was trying to put on weight before my surgery, but it's not going well!  I started off at 7 stone, 10 lbs, and 4 oz, then I went up to 7.11.6, so I thought it was working.  But then this morning I weighed myself and I'm down to 7.9.4!  How is this happening?!  I'm literally eating anything I want, for example last night I had pizza followed by chocolate pudding, and I'm actually losing weight?!  I'm probably one of the few people who actually wants to put on weight, and I can't!  How ironic!

Before X-ray

I've wanted an x-ray of my face for ages, and whilst it was on the screen during my appt yesterday I took the  opportunity to take a photo on my phone!  Hopefully they will let me take a photo of my 'after' x-ray too so I'll be able to compare (and see all the metal in my new face!)

Above: My gorgeous smile lol, so glad to be getting rid of that wonky gummy smile!

OMG!!! I'm having my surgery in 2 weeks!!!

So.... something crazy has happened... I'm having my surgery in 2 weeks on 11th October!!!

I rang my hospital yesterday because at the moment I'm applying for jobs, and I thought it really would be helpful to have some kind of idea as to when my surgery's going to be.  So I rang the hospital and said 'Can you give me any indication of when it's going to be?' and the woman said it will probably be February now, much to my disappointment. But then she said that they'd had a cancellation and she was looking for someone to fill it so it's quite handy that I rang... The cancellation is for 11th October! I said I'd definitely want it but she said she'd need to ask my ortho whether she thought there was enough time to get me prepped, so she said she'd ring me back today....
So this morning I got a phone call from my orthodontist, and she said that they've decided there is time to get me prepped and that I can have the cancellation slot!!! She asked me to go in asap, so I went in this afternoon. She took some photos, did some moulds, did some measurements, and used the 'face bow' (lovely name) to measure how my top jaw sits in relation to my face. This face bow looked like and felt like something from Saw!  It was quite painful, they shoved it right in my ears and right up against my nose, it was rather unpleasant!  Apparently all of this was so that they could make my 'wafer'.  I'd never heard of this before but she said that it was so that during the surgery they can make sure that they've moved my jaws into the desired place.
So it's actually happening in 2 weeks and 1 day!!! It hasn't really sunk in that much yet, I don't feel anywhere near as excited and terrified as I should yet because I think it still doesn't seem real! I've now got lots of appts lined up. Ive got to go in next Weds to have my wafer fitted, but they said I might have to go up to the hospital that's actually doing my op tomorrow to have my pre-op assessment tomorrow, but they're going to ring me and let me know.
I feel sooooo lucky right now! Thank God I rang yesterday cos if I hadn't I'd probably be waiting until February!

Coincidentally it's my 19 month brace anniversary today, so I will post some pics in a min.  I also took a photo of my X-ray at the hospital so I will try and upload that too!

Waiting...

I rang my hospital again the other day as I hadn't heard back from them, and was 'reassured' that I am on the waiting list.  Apparently the person who deals with it has been on holiday but is now back.  I would be perfectly satisfied with this answer... if I hadn't been given two different answers the last two times I rang.  Every person there tells me something different.  I don't feel too reassured to be honest, but how many more times can I ring them?!  I've got an appointment on 17th October, just a normal ortho appt, but I'm hoping I would've heard about my surgery before then.  How long should I give it before I start harassing them again?!

18 months of braces... and more frustration

18 months... this is starting to get boring and repetitive now...

As you may remember from my last post, the next step in my jaw journey was apparently to wait for a letter telling me my surgery date.  To cut a long story short, it's now been over 3 weeks since I had my last appointment.  My operation is meant to be at a different hospital (Kings) to the one I usually go to (Queen Mary's).  When I spoke to Queen Mary's, they said that the letter should be coming from Kings, but then when I rang Kings they had no idea who I was and hadn't been contacted by Queen Mary's about putting me on the waiting list.  So I rang back Queen Mary's, and they said they'd speak to my surgeon when he's in on Monday afternoon and they'll get back to me... I won't hold my breath.  If I don't hear from them by towards  the end of Monday, I'll be on the phone harassing them yet again.

I hate to moan and nag, I'm really not a complainer, but it really is the only way to get anything done.  It's soooooooo frustrating and ridiculous, what would happen if I didn't ring and nag them all the time?  I think this would've taken even longer, if that's possible...
